what is meditation?

Meditation is merely the process of observing, but not reacting to your thoughts and letting them go.
You cannot control your thoughts, so you must  learn to see what they are and release them. Through this
process,  you will see that with the release of your thoughts from your mind, you will be closer to achieving a    meditative  state.
while meditating , you should learn to control your breathing. Breathe slow and steady. You may sit in a
relaxed position in a straight, upright posture for optimal breathing.

Buddhism

Many people want to know about Buddhism and some people interpret Buddhism as one religion of the world. But, according to the teachings of the Buddha, he never claims that his teachings are 'religion'. For me, Buddhism is not a religion but it is a kind of living with nature and understanding the nature itself.

Simple teaching of the Buddha is:
Avaid evil, cultivate good deed, and purify one's mind. These are the teachings of the Buddhas.
