Yo mātaraṃ pitaraṃ vā,
jiṇṇakaṃ gatayobbanaṃ --
pahu santo na bharati
taṃ parābhavato mukhaṃ.

Though being well-to-do,
not to support father and mother
who are old and past their youth --
this is a cause of one's downfall.
